Flow Scales

Flow Scales

About the Product

What Are Flow Scales and How Do They Work?

In a flow scale, product is taken into the weighing hopper in defined amounts. When the hopper is full, weight is measured, a record is created, and product is discharged to the next line by opening the bottom gate. The cycle repeats to calculate total product throughput.

Key Features

  • Batch weighing of flowing bulk product
  • Measurement in receiving, shipping, and process control
  • Data transfer and recording capability to automation systems
  • Hopper and discharge layout suited to plant capacity

Applications

  • Grain receiving and shipping lines
  • Silo fill and discharge facilities
  • Feed and flour mills
  • Port, terminal, and commercial storage centers

Integration with Plant and Automation Systems

The scale works with top feed slide gates, load cells, bottom discharge gates, control panels, and plant automation.

Engineering and Product Selection

Product bulk density, target hourly capacity, batch volume, accuracy requirements, and existing conveying line are evaluated when selecting the scale model.
